There are some common designs that use certain patterns, for a no-fuss driveway, these can be ideal.
Stretcher Bond
The stretcher bond design is similar to stack bond, but its more intricate overlapping design means it is usually preferred for driveways.
90° Herringbone
Although it is more time-consuming than the stack and stretcher bond designs, 90° herringbone is a stylish and timeless repeating design. Visually, the bricks create the effect of a series of overlapping steps.
Basket Weave
As its name suggests, basket weave is a common paving design looks very much like a close-up of a woven basket.

Classic
You can also go for a more classic, timeless design for your driveway.
Basket Weave with Contrasting Colour
To make this common paving design a little more unusual, you can create it using bricks in two different colours. Then, one colour is used for the bricks laid horizontally, and the other for the bricks laid vertically.
Circular
Although it is one of the most complicated block paving styles in this list, the circular design is a great way to make a feature out of a small driveway. It is also a great choice for older properties, as it has a more traditional, timeless aesthetic.
Stretcher Bond with Contrasting Border
If you want to enhance this common paving design, a contrasting border is a great addition. You could align the border with the sides of your driveway, or along the edge between your property and the road.
Stretcher Bond with Contrasting Stretcher Inlay & Header
A modern take on a timeless design, the contrasting stretcher inlay and header makes the design appear more intricate, and is a great way to mark out the different areas of your driveway.

45° Stack Bond with Contrasting Inlay & Header
Angled stack bond paving uses square blocks, which give the paving design a more modern, minimalist feel.
45° Herringbone
As its name suggests, this paving layout follows the same intricate pattern as the classic herringbone textile design.
45° Stretcher Bond
If you like the stretcher bond design, but feel like it is too simple, consider making it slanted.
45° Herringbone with Contrasting Header
The angled herringbone design is a great match for the neat linear header.
45° Stack Bond with Contrasting Triangle-Cut Inlays & Header
The triangle inlays give this paving design a more unique feel. And, the use of the header achieves a seamless edge with the road, your property or your garage.
45° Herringbone with Contrasting Stretcher Inlay & Header
This paving design adds another layer to the slanted herringbone with contrasting header, with an extra vertical layer of rectangular slabs.
45° Stack Bond
This simple design is quick and easy to install, while the slanted finish creates the effect of a paving layout that’s more elaborate.
45° Stack Bond with Contrasting Diamond Inlay
To enhance the stack bond design further, you could feature a diamond inlay in a contrasting colour, to mark out the centre of your driveway.

If you want the diamond adornment to stretch across the full driveway, you can feature two overlapping diamonds.
